I bill a flat fee for each project. The fee is agreed upon in advance and is based on the number of words in the project.
The per-word rate may vary depending on research needs, rush deadlines and other factors. Very long projects, such as books, command lower per-word rates.
The fee includes incidental costs such as telephone and postage. Extraordinary expenses such as travel may be extra.
The fee covers unlimited rewrites. My goal is to deliver an article that is publishable with minimal editing on your part.
Fees are not subject to revision. If an article takes longer than expected to research, write or rewrite, the fee stays the same.
Fees are payable on your acceptance of the completed project. Except in the case of very large projects, such as books, fees are not payable in advance. Your payment is expected within 30 days of receiving my invoice.
The benchmark per-word rate is $1 US. That means a 1,000-word article costs approximately $1,000. Expect to pay between 50 cents and $2 per word for most projects.
